Medicare Advantage and Supplemental Plans

We Make It Easy to Get the Coverage You Need

At age 65 it is vital to enroll in the Medicare program Part A and Part B. Apex Insurance can help you decide if a Medicare Advantage plan or a Medicare Supplemental plan is best for you.

What is a Medicare Advantage Plan?

These supplemental Medicare plans are also called Part C and they offer coverage through insurance companies approved by Medicare and include all the benefits of Medicare Part A and Part B.

Advantage plans can include benefits like vision, dental, and/or prescription drug coverage. When you join a Medicare Advantage plan, you must continue paying your Part B premium. Some Medicare Advantage plans have $0 premium.”

What is a Medicare Supplement?

Medicare Supplement plans, also known as Medigap plans, pay for costs not covered by original Medicare. This can leave a member with little to no out of pocket costs. These plans allow you to see any doctor in the country who accept Medicare assignments.

What’s Not Covered

Medicare Supplement plans help with deductibles and other expenses not paid by Original Medicare. They do not cover services if Original Medicare does not cover them, including:

  • Prescription Drugs
  • Long-term Care
  • Dental Care
  • Eye Glasses

Can I have both?

No. Medicare Advantage plans do not work with Medicare Supplement plans. This means that you cannot use your Medigap plan to take care of the copayments, premiums, or deductible from your Part C Medicare Advantage plan.
